Design Technology

Design Technology is a key part of the curriculum at Sunningdale. Boys get the opportunity to work in a wide range of materials and use a variety of different processes.

In the early stages, the focus is on acquiring basic skills and creating fun projects. As they progress, more emphasis is placed on design and evaluation and the boys are encouraged to work independently and come up with their own ideas.

Computer aided design is a key component and the boys use 3D printing and laser etching to bring their designs to life.

The DT department works closely with the science department and the curriculum includes trips to the Design Museum and Science Museum in London.
